Advanced Dermal Filler Course Overview

The Advanced Dermal Filler Course is usually taken after the Dual Introduction to Toxin and Basic Filler and the Lower Face Cannula course. It is also suited to individuals who have been injecting for some time in their clinics and who want to add in the advanced areas of temples and tear troughs. This program is highly recommended to further increase filler injection skills and is best suited for injectors having some prior injection experience. Extensive pre-course online material is provided to you prior to a personalized hands-on injection training day.

Advanced Dermal Filler Training Course Outline

Extensive pre course online material will cover anatomy, physiology , management of common and uncommon complications. Products used include both Hyaluronic Acid Fillers as well as Radiesse. Both needle and cannula techniques are utilized appropriately. All mid and lower face treatment areas are covered ( lips, chins, cheeks, jawlines, melomental fold, nasolabial folds) with an additional focus on the treatment of temples and tear troughs.

Theresa Taylor, RN, CANS.

Aesthetic Nurse Specialist, Trainer

Theresa Taylor is a Registered Nurse with extensive hospital and aesthetic injecting experience. She is a Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist and Medical Aesthetic Practitioner. Theresa began her nursing career at Humber River Regional Hospital and worked with many plastic surgeons within the Surgical Outpatient Clinic. She also held positions at Halton Healthcare Georgetown Site in Ambulatory Care and PACU. Theresa has been an Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner since 2012, having graduated with honours from Centennial College’s Medical Aesthetic Nursing Program. Over the last 7 years, Theresa has worked for two prominent plastic surgeons as their Lead Advanced Cosmetic Nurse Injector. It is during this time she developed her passion for aesthetic injections, lasers and anti-aging skin care. Theresa has attended several prominent aesthetic conferences where she trained and advanced her education in facial aesthetics. She is keenly aware of her clients’ needs and is known to deliver exceptional results. Theresa is a highly-skilled and gentle injector and enjoys sharing her extensive knowledge and specialized techniques with other medical professionals. She has experience with all neuromodulators as well as HA fillers from Galderma, Allergan and Merz. In addition to her work as an APT Trainer, Theresa is also the owner of her own medical aesthetic practice in Georgetown, Ontario.

Tonya Earle, R.P.N.

Aesthetic Nurse Specialist, Trainer

Tonya graduated in 2003 from Centennial College’s Nursing Program and began her nursing career at Bloorview MacMillan, Canada’s largest children’s rehabilitation teaching hospital. She has been an Aesthetic Nurse Consultant and Trainer since 2004 and has worked with Patricia and APT’s BOTOX® Injection Training and Dermal Filler Courses for over 10 years. She has been trained by industry leaders and worked for several prominent plastic surgeons to skillfully administer cosmetic injectables including Botox and temporary and permanent soft tissue filler treatments. By working alongside Patricia at APT, Tonya has achieved a high level of technical expertise allowing her to train physicians and nurses across Canada and internationally on the most current injection techniques. Tonya has been working with Prollenium Medical Technologies since 2013 as their Aesthetic Clinical Educator. Tonya participates regularly in various industry meetings to ensure promotion of the best treatment options for clients.

Deborah Kellett, BSc, RN.

Trainer, Allergan MD Codes Nurse Mentee

Deborah is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. For the last 7 years, she has been the Full-Time Lead Nurse Injector and Managing Partner at Dr. Takhar’s Cosmetic Clinic. Deborah has attended several aesthetic conferences including Allergan’s Top 100 Nurse Injectors in Canada and most recently the Expert Level Year 5 of MD Codes with Dr. Da Maio. Deborah’s nursing career began in the Operating Room and Post Anesthetic Care Unit. She has also held positions as a Nurse Educator in the PACU. Deborah received a certificate in Diabetes Education which inspired her passion for sharing her knowledge and skills with others. She is a faculty member at Humber College and Centennial College with the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program and the Medical Esthetics for Nurses: Cosmetic Injectables Program. Deborah is a member of the CNO, RNAO and CSASN. Deborah has been an instructor with APT for over 2 years and enjoys sharing her knowledge and skills with other professionals. Her teaching style focuses on giving novice and advanced learners clear, practical and replicable steps that produce confidence in learners. Deborah has experience with Botox, Xeomin and Dysport as well as all HA-based fillers from Allergan, Merz and Galderma.
